The Merida Big Seven 100 Mountain Bike is an entry level hardtail designed to give you a lightweight feel and a scope of components that will mean you can enjoy a day out on cross country trails with plenty of confidence, it has an easy to use 2×9 drivetrain with a lockout air suspension fork. The Merida features a Shimano Alivio drivetrain with 2 chainrings at the front and 9 gears at the rear, providing you with plenty of range for steep climbs and descents while still keeping things affordable. Merida have chosen to kit this bike out with Shimano Hydraulic disc brakes meaning you can have confidence in all conditions knowing you’ve got a reliable braking system that stops when when you need to. The Merida Big Seven 100 mountain bike features a lightweight aluminium frame with a maximum wheel and tyre clearance for 27.5 x 2.25” and a 135 x 9mm quick release axle standard. You’ll find more natural trails with tree roots and loose rocks quite comfortable with the Suntour XCR32 LOR fork featuring adjustable air suspension custom to your body weight which has 100mm of travel helping you maintain grip in the corners and power through climbs – a huge benefit to this fork is the lockout feature which will have you climbing with maximum efficiency and while still have access the 100mm of suspension on the rocky descents and flats – our staff Instore can assist you with setting up your air suspension fork to suit your body weight!
Merida have designed the Big Seven 100 Mountain bike for 2022 with eager riders in mind- their goal to build a bike with reliable quality components at affordable price for everyone. They’ve done an excellent job at investing in areas that have a big impact on the riding feel of the bike such as the brakes, gears, and lockout air suspension and Merida have gone the extra mile to give you the latest modern features such as internal cable routing which not only looks great but protects your cables on a bike rack and from potential ‘incidents’ out on the trails. The best aspect of this bike is that you know you’re getting something you will notice and actively benefit from with every dollar you’ve spent. If you’re in the market for a great experience riding fire roads or tackling some easier trails – the Merida Big Seven 100 will have you covered, it’s got some pretty big upgrades over the entry level models with air suspension, Maxxis Ikon tyres an bigger brakes. This is the bike for those who either want to hit the ground running with a bike that isn’t going to hold you back once you’ve got some confidence out on the trails or a rider looking to upgrade to a bike featuring high end features without the expensive price tag! The Merida Big Seven 100 is the most affordable bike in the Merida range packing features that compare it to much more expensive bikes – if you want a bike that fits your budget but doesn’t compromise where it counts this is it.
