The Merida Big Seven 20 Mountain Bike is an entry level hardtail designed to give you a lightweight feel and a scope of components that will mean you can enjoy a day out on cross country trails with plenty of confidence, it has an easy to use 2×8 drivetrain with a lockout fork. The Merida features a Shimano Altus drivetrain with 2 chainrings at the front and 8 gears at the rear, providing you with plenty of range for steep climbs and descents while still keeping things affordable. Merida have chosen to kit this bike out with Shimano Hydraulic disc brakes meaning you can have confidence in all conditions knowing you’ve got a reliable braking system that stops when when you need to. The Merida Big Seven 20 mountain bike features a lightweight aluminium frame with a maximum wheel and tyre clearance for 27.5 x 2.25” and a 135 x 9mm axle standard. You’ll find more natural trails with tree roots and loose rocks quite comfortable with the Suntour XCT30 HLO fork which has 100mm of travel helping you maintain grip in the corners and power through climbs – a huge benefit to this fork is the lockout feature which will have you climbing with maximum efficiency and while still have access the 100mm of suspension on the rocky descents and flats.
