The workhorse of the Shimano range, the 105 groupset provides precise, reliable shifting on every ride without breaking the bank. Shimano 105 Hydraulic Disc Brakes give you control in all conditions, with responsive braking for enhanced control and confidence even on descents and in the wet. The 11 speed, 11-30T cassette allowing you to tackle any terrain with confidence whether on a training ride or when testing your limits racing.
The front and rear integrated disc coolers prevent overheating so that you can get the most out of the Shimano 105 Hydraulic Disc Brakes. Rolling on Merida Expert CW wheels and Continental Ultra Sport III tyres, and with clearance for 30mm tyres, it is no wonder the Merida Reacto was called ‘an utterly brilliant and faultless machine’ by Cyclingnews.
The Merida Reacto 4000 is an amazing machine, between the aerodynamic frame and the reliable Shimano 105 groupset this bike ticks every box for someone wanting to get into racing with a performance machine without breaking the bank. This is a bike that is lightning-fast yet is still stable and comfortable so that you don’t have to be uncomfortable just to maximise every watt of power. This bike is perfect for those starting out in the racing world, and for those who want the extra watts on challenging club rides.
One of the key elements of the Reacto that further improves the already impressive aerodynamic performance is the complete cable integration, hiding all cables from view and wind exposure and generating a 2 Watts saving.
The new fork and frame allow tyres of up to 30 mm to be fitted, which besides the well-proven Merida Team CW seat post, further improve the comfort as well as the road grip of the new REACTO so that you can ride in comfort on rough surfaces.
The 2nd gen disc coolers are integrated into the frame and fork to minimise drag and reduce the risk of the disc brakes overheating on long descents. The forged aluminium part under the front and rear disc brake caliper draws heat away through CNC-milled cooling fins for 35% less heat build-up and faster temperature reduction.
