Product Description
Our heartland has always been bombproof aluminium hardtails. Half a century of frame building experience counts for a lot.
We’ve made a few changes to the UK range, upgrading the Merida Big Nine and Big Seven 15 to use the sophisticated TFS frame and creating the UK Exclusive Big Nine and Big Seven 80 featuring a RockShox branded fork and Shimano Deore 1 x 12.
Key features:
- 6061 aluminium, double butted and technoformed frame
- Suntour XCT30 forks with 100mm of bump soaking travel
- Merida K1080 give enough traction while not affecting rolling resistance
- Shimano 3×8 gears give enough range to climb anything
- Shimano hydraulic brakes offer all weather stopping power
- Sizes: M (17″) , L (18.5″) , XL (20″)
- Colours: Blue/Black
- The Merida Big Nine 15 is available with 0% APR Finance
All Big Seven and Big Nine frames feature:
– full internal cable routing, for a clean, neat set up
– tapered headtube offering the potential for future upgrade
– inboard disc brake mounts to protect the brake and maximise stopping power
Reliability is enhanced by the inclusion of as much Shimano componentry as possible.
There are a wide range of sizes; Big Nine for taller riders, Big Seven for shorter riders with a healthy overlap of sizes in between.
For riders in the middle, riding style can be taken into account. If you are looking for speed and efficiency, choose a Big Nine, if you are looking for agility choose a Big Seven.

* Mountain bikes are sized differently to road bikes. Typically, they are sized in inches as the first MTBs were produced in the USA. European brands like Lapierre and Haibike like to use centimetres for all their bikes. The measurements of their mountain bikes doesn’t match their road bikes but are like a simple conversion from the inches measurement. This is why we have included cm measurements in brackets for the Mountain bike column.
