Review
“The eOne-Sixty is the 160/155mm travel option, which features a mullet wheelsize setup with a 29×2.5″ tyre up front and a 27.5×2.6″ tyre out back… Yet travel and geometry remain the same as the 2020 version. The eOne-Sixty 8000 uses the same carbon/alloy chassis as the 10K model, along with the new EP8 motor and 630Wh battery.”
Flow Mountain Bike
The Merida eOne Sixty 8000 is a dual suspension e-bike with a premium carbon-alloy frame and high end spec for the rider that won’t compromise. The eOne Sixty is equipped with a performance focused carbon-alloy frame with a carbon front end to minimise weight and an alloy rear end to maximise strength. The in-tube Shimano E8036 630Wh Battery (E8035 – 504Wh Battery for XS Size) integrated into the frame for a clean look and balanced feel. The 630Wh offers a 25% increase in capacity over the older 504Wh model, matched with the brand new Shimano EP8 Motor which replaces the older E8000 motor. This motor brings software that allows you to adjust the support levels of each assistance mode from your phone to suit your personal needs and preferences. It also packs a bigger punch with 85 Nm and is also lighter by 300 grams for a swift ride. It has an ‘internal block’ built right into the frame, which prevents the fork crown from hitting the frame when you crash, as well as the addition of extra rubber bumpers on the frame to avoid any frame damage from the fork crown
You know that the e-bike components on this bike are awesome, but so is the rest of the spec on this bike. The Marzocchi Z1 Ebike+ Fork brings 160mm travel to tame the trails and help give this bike some punchy personality. The Shimano XT shifters and rear derailleur offer smooth shifting, while the Shimano SLX 4 Piston Hydraulic Disc Brakes give you all of the stopping power to control this beast and ride with confidence – these brakes really are a standout on this bike. Add to that the hand picked Maxxis Assegai 29×2.5″ Front Tyre/ 27.5×2.5″ Maxxis Agressor Rear Tyre combination to ensure that this heavier full suspension e-bike offers precision, playfulness, and traction on the trails. It’s all finished off with a Merida Comp TR Dropper Post so that you can get out of your seat and really let it rip.
The 8000 is the entry-point for the carbon-alloy frame eOne Sixty and is a a solid improvement over the alloy frame Merida eOne Sixty 700, overall both bikes have very similar spec and design however, the carbon frame will give the 8000 slightly different ride characteristics. When all is considered, the Merida eOne Sixty 8000 is a premium electric bike and it delivers on that front, with a design that gives you a natural riding experience and advanced e-bike technology that gives you plenty of power to help you out with the tough stuff.
SHIMANO EP8
Comes equipped with the new EP8 motor from Shimano STePS. It offers an increased performance of 85 Nm, less weight, a further reduction in size and less friction. On top of that, the new internal battery offers an extended range and super-fast charging capabilities.
CLEVER WHEELS
To give the e-full suspension bikes precise steering, fantastic rolling over obstacles behaviour yet maximum traction, we have combined a 29er front wheel with a 2.5″ tyre and a 650B rear wheel, equipped with a slightly wider 2.6″ tyre. The perfect combination of precision, playfulness and traction. process.
THERMO GATE
Specifically located openings on the carbon models near the head tube which work like a chimney and allow the warm air to dissipate to guarantee the optimum operating temperature of the internal battery. The ‘Thermo Gate’ enables the battery to perform at its best, in any condition.
